197 Gear Box Problems! Help

My gear box has recently started playing up, seems to be a known fault, 2nd and 3rd gear crunch, slight squeal at times and a strange knocking noise at high revs...

This has only just started happening, I drive around 40 miles a day and when driving normally the box has no symptoms. Am I OK to continue to drive the car until I can get this sorted as its obviously not cheap, or is it likely to stop working all together quite soon?

Assistance would be appreciated, I assume Renault will not want anything to do with it as its a 2008 year car..
