1st ever service at dealership an unhappy one

Damm! SJ Cooks is my local! Bristol is a bit short on Renault specialists!!!

...there is a ren specialist in Stroud....I made contact with them but their response was very vague so didn't follow them up....if you don't mind a 90 mile drive to Exmouth, Carlton Garage are very good. Exeter is only a short train ride away so we use if for an excuse to have a day out.....I can give you the contact details if you need them.....

And is it? Haha

Mines due its service very soon! I'll have to remember all of this!

No it ****ing not. *******s have replaced it with a standar one! It's got an itg sticker on the lid and on the try it says do not replace, hell the filter even has ITG written across it in giant letters

Never even crossed my mind

After taking my clio to Smiths renault in peterborough for an MOT the other week im going to try my best not to go back purely because i know some **** had taken it out and thrashed the **** out of it. Why does a car need a road test after MOT???? and they washed it when i didnt want it washing.

Not going to splash out £60 on an itg now if you didn't notice the difference

I bet they sell all the aftermarket filters on ebay when taken from customers cars.

I did notice there wasn't a growl any more but I didn't even remember I had the filter in there. But no I won't be replacing it lol. Can't really go back, the service was the first week of January!

Uh oh my car goes back to smiths tomorrow in Borg. Hopefully they rag it and crash it.

Cheers for everyone's reply's sorry I've took so long to get back with an update its been a long day

Sorry to hear that marshall like I said before I noticed the sweet growl had gone straight away on myn.

Anyway quick update the lady off the desk was all apologies after my early morning email and has spoken with the manager they have found my old filter and I have to go collect tomorrow ( 30mins drive ) they said that their fitters would fit it so I said don't bother it's a 2 min job ill do it myself also they will re-inburse me for the standard filter think I'm within my rights to ask for petrol money also.! Anyone agree??

Regards to the shocking service book she said she will cross it out but how can she its already awful I really dunno how they can resolve this normally I'm a quiet person but I am quite pissed off that I have spent so much money and have been treated poorly all I expected was some general stability of a main dealer but by the looks of reply's on here that's even to much to ask for

I haven't spoke to Renault uk yet either as been busy at work.

The paint has also come off on the edge of the bonnet from ppl putting the wipers up but she said warranty won't cover this ? Has anybody else had this prob?

Thanks again Graeme

The wipers thing can be a bit of an issue when people don't pay attention. Can't see why they would cover it.

There's no way I'd be putting that filter back in my car, who knows where its been! If its been in the bin it could he contaminated with oil, water, brake fluid etc, do you really want to use it?

Don't drive there, write a letter to the service manager. Give him 14 days to sort you with a new book and filter. Failing that write to RUK. You pay dealer prices for a reason...

Phone renault UK, log a complaint against the dealer. Then renault UK have to call the service department and ask there side of the story, as they pretty much admit they are in the wrong, they should come up with some way of compensating you. Petrol, free next service, air filter refunded etc.

When our phone rings at work, "hi its dave from Renault UK, is the Sales/Service manager in today?" Its brown trouser time.... Haha!

...don't know if you know already, but you are supposed to open the bonnet before lifting the wipers up....basically the wipers lift up under the bonnet lid whilst it is on the support....

UPDATE

Just had a lengthy online chat with a guy from Renault uk customer services

Passed on everything and waiting a call of them now I also emailed them pictures of my service book.

Just to add my car wasn't even mot'd at Renault they took it a couple of mile down the road they told me this afterwards I dread to think what I'd of done if I'd of seen someone driving down the road in it. ( a prob with their system they said )

I really wont be bothering with new cars anymore nor can i see my ownership exceeding the 4 years its being bought over.

I must be the nieve one buying a brand new car thinking warranty was worthwhile having but its just hassle, they are totally incompetant. Look at the state of your service book, cant even use a stamp.

No wonder they cant find my steering issue, the computer doesnt tell them the problem and what to replace.

The worst design fault I've ever come across!
