5-40 10-40 oil

The difference is 5... LOL!

I think the low number has something to do with its cold start protection. 10-40 for example would be used in hot climate??

It's a viscosity rating. The lower the number the less thick (viscous) it is. Is it's thinner, when it is cold it will get around the engine parts more easily.

Well, apart from it being clearly stated in the manual, Dialogys pdfs etc., take it from a former Megane II owner - the lifetime of the dephaser pulley on Renault VVT engines needs lubrication and it needs it fast :tongueout:

Obviously, 0w-40 would be good too, but oil consumption would be higher I think...

Thanks. (ευχαριστώ)
