Actually not. It's a mint limited edition. No different to people asking silly money for stock Sierra cosworths. Not my cup of tea but it's far from any old nova.
Funny I was talking to my friend about this last night, hes a Nova head and yes its a very rare car indeed finding the 'correct' parts for these is a major task, having seen one fully restored a few years back at the NEC it really is a thing of beuty and im not a nova fan never had one.
Had a Nova SR back in '85 & never really gelled with it so sold it 18 months later. A week after I placed the order this sport edition was announced, but dealer wouldn't let me change my order. Never mind as I wouldn't have kept it. My wife too had a Nova briefly years before we met & hated it. Should've learned a lesson, but bought an Astra GTC in '02 as a 2nd car & we both loathed that too! Never buying another Vauxhall (unless someone offers me a very cheap VX220 track toy)!
Couple of years of early retirement.
Half a mortgage paid off for some people.
Nice car and £50k in savings.
Or some metal that's much more serious than a Nova.
And the auction hasnt actually finished yet of course either....
Looks like plenty of serious bidders too. I dont see any 0-rated shill-bidding at the sharp-end.

When i was a nipper Novas were everywhere i never see them anymore. Being in classic cars i can tell you that a car is worth whatever anyone is prepared to pay on the day the price does go down as well as up...looks like this is a good day for the owner.
