Both headlights failed !!

Both sides of dipped headlights not working.sidelights and full beam still working.checked bulbs - both ok, checked fuses in car and those to right of battery even those under wires at the bottom,all ok .abit stuck now what to check.
im not mechanically minded so please don't baffle me ,cheers in advance.

Maybe the switch has gone mate! My old 172 headlight switch packed it in and sidelights and fog and other lights all worked. Or pull the rubber/access cover of the back of the headlights make sure the wires and damaged/corroded. Otherwise i would take it to a garage to check earths/feeds and that if you dont feel confident of checking yourself with a volt meter.

By switch do you mean on the steering column stalk?,
I've checked at back of bulbs ,no damage or corrosion there,
is it an easy fix if it's switch?

what bulbs are they, are they standard bulbs?
