Think I need a good slap, had my car since the 1st October 2008 brand new and I am already thinking about selling it.

Why oh why do I get theses ideas in my head :@!

I got my car for 9 months now and I am dreaming of buying a S2000...

So I can imagine your thoughts. But I will not sell my car, or now. I love it toooooo much!

dont blame you on the S2000 mate, I've been offered one cheap, they are fantastic cars. Been out in one a couple of times and I must say, they're impressive

You lot are no help, you are meant to persuade me to keep it :-p

Thinking about a Meg R26 F1 with Lux Pack or a Seat Leon Cupra, nothing wrong with my car just want more POWER and a bit of luxury.

times for bedford aerodrome as tested by EVO mag i do appreciate they are not the quickest in a straight line but on the twisties they're in a class of their own price/performance wise.

Hehe, that’s the problem though the more miles you put on them the more they will rattle

Don’t get me wrong the 197 is so much fun to drive but you always have to be high up in the rev band to move any where, I know this is the nature of the engine and that’s fine, but now and again you just want to cruise along with out the constant noise of a dog on speed chipping away at you.

I do love my car just would like a bit of refinement, I can’t be alone as I have noticed a lot of people selling up lately.

...lol...I started thinking about my next car on the way home from picking the 197 up from the dealers!! Got to stick with it, as Minimax says....more miles the better. Mine is 18 months old with 16k on the clock and it is far better than its ever been....to change now would be extrav, costly rediculous and would probably result in divorce proceedings against me....but I know how it feels....constantly looking for my next car!

So a 182 Cup is faster than a properly sorted version of it (Trophy)?

Oh and the Megane Trophy is basically a Megane 225 isnt it? Not an R26 which would definately be quicker than a 197 round track.

TBH those figures prove themselves worthless by saying a 182 cup is quicker than a Trophy.

its not that much difference between these cars, 2 seconds at most and depends on the driver and race line taken, so imo its neither here or there.
If going for a change, and one I've considered myself too, I'd go for Leon and probably will, maybe next year. Clio is great fun but I'd prefer a cruiser with straight line speed and I need boost and comfort.
Though one thing I can't fault the 197 for and thats the Recaro's. The most comfortable seats I've ever had and never have a stiff back after driving it, so I have to get Recaros in my next car too.
