Cannon 1000d

Just purchased a cannon 1000d, anyone got any tips? anyone know of any cool stuff you can do with it? I'm just learning at the moment, going to be purchasing a fixed 50 lense for it soon for my fishing!

I've had a 400d for about 3 years now and its a fantastic bit of kit, you'll be very pleased with the 1000d.

To start off with I would definitely suggest using the P mode, gives you some control over focus modes, setting flash to fire or not etc.

Then start having a play with aperature priority and shutter speed priority modes to get the effect of blured backgrounds (wide aperature - low F number) and also night time photography (long shutter time).

The 50mm F1.8 lense is meant to be superb, something I plan on getting soon

Some of my mates use the fixed 50 and wow some of there photos are incredible!!

Should have a self timer somewhere on it but you probably can use a remote shutter too

Good buy Mike loves this camera for the price of it and i got one at xmas from the girlfriend and love it!

Fantastic for the price really I can justify spending that much on a good piece of kit that I'm going to keep for a few years!!
