Debadging the boot

I thought I'd share a quick update to what I've recently done to my car.

When cleaning at the weekend I stumbled across the heat gun in the garage, I didn't intend on debadging the boot that day, it kind of just happened.

When taking off the renaultsport badge, initially I was left with the black sticky stuff like I was expecting. What I found out, to my shier panic, under the black stuff there was what looked like bubbling of the paint underneath where the letters were.

The reason I'm writing this is so that anyone else who is doing this should know that all this 'bubbling' is simply glue! After a lot of persuasion and about 40 mins of cleaning it does come off.

I'm really happy with the results. More updates to come

To get the glue off mine I used a couple industrial cleaning wipes and it was off in a couple of minutes. Then with a wet flannel I wiped the smears left by the wipes. Had it all done inside 10 minutes.

I wish I had that luxury. I thought autoglym tar off would be affective enough. Although without that, god knows how long it would have taken. Well worth the effort I think.
