Disabling cornering lights?

As the title says really, is there any way of disabling the cornering lights?

Is it just a case of unplugging them, or taking the bulbs out?
I find them more annoying than useful and other drivers sometimes think I'm flashing them out of junctions....

me too, they're helpful when I turn into my narrow street at night and it gets dark now at around 15:45 this time of year here in poland, but if you're annoyed by them just take the bulbs out, I guess that would make the least damage, as undoing the plug would allow moisture onto the contacts and could make it more work to get them working again sometime in the future should you change your mind,
