When I first started it to go home from work it sounded like it was blowing but it's only on 450 miles! I've checked to see if the air filter is fitted properly.

They arent smooth on idle mate, I remember when I first got it, I had it running and got something out of the boot and thought it sounded wrong, but it wasn't, its just a characteristic lol!

TBH that sounds more like a diseasel than anything. You would be best off getting a vid where there is no echo, I honestly wouldn't think you have a problem.

sounds ok

dont forget they run different when cold - they are made to heat up the cat as quickly as possible so thats why they sound a bit gruff from cold

How does the ecu react to that when the cats removed then? Will it be permanently trying to heat it up on it's rough setting?

no as it uses the lambda sensors also - these are also heated

...I love the cold start sound...makes the car sound highly strung....especially on a very cold morning.....

Mine sounds like its blowing from the front when cold too. Goes away as soon as it's warmed up though
