Exhaust mount rattling

POTM Winner - March 2017
Everytime I go for an extended drive somewhere, or setting off uphill and going round a round about. My exhaust rests on the hanger, causing an absolutely awful rattling noise. Is there any tips or tricks I could to stop it as my mechanic said there's nothing I can do to fix it and I refuse to believe him. It's getting on my boobies (want for a better word).

I've got a Scorpion cat back system.

Cheers all!

Mark

Hi Mark, I've just had the exact same problem with my Scorpion - it was rattling like mad, it was horrible! My mechanic had to spend a decent amount of time getting it sitting right, so it can be done - you do right not believing your garage!

I wouldn't have a clue about doing it DIY, but I can suggest either taking it to a different garage for a second opinion/pair of eyes on it, or to an exhaust specialist. Aftermarket exhausts can be problematic when it comes to fitment issues, but with a bit of time and patience, they can be made to sit correctly.

Glad I'm not the only one, I've put up with it for ages and it's starting to annoy the life out of me!

We have a power flow specialist in hull, so I might give them a blast, see what they can do!

It really spoilt it when I had it happen to me, it was mega embarrassing as well! Thankfully my mechanic was happy to spend the time making sure it sat right - they were the ones who'd installed it in the first place, so I suppose they felt a bit of an obligation to make sure it was spot on! Hope you get it sorted!

I put mine on, so I guess it makes it even worse, I can't even lego piece together an exhaust system [emoji23]

Cheers bud! I'm sure it'll get sorted at some point [emoji13]
