Hi folks, hope someone can help diagnose what's up with my Clio.

My wife was driving to work this morning and the Clio cut out completely in the middle of the road!. Not good especially as I'm abroad and couldn't help her, anyway it started after 10 mins and some furious throttle stamping. Once started it was spluttering a bit and wasn't taking the throttle too well.

Any ideas

Intermittent failure on the lambda-sensor maybe?

Had exactly the same problem on my very first car [Opel Corsa 1.4i-16V] back in '97. Stalled a few moments after startup [almost drove into a house because of it], refused to start for 'bout 10~15 minutes and spluttered like hell when it did fire up. Continued spluttering for a few moments after taking off and suddenly everything was fine again. Took car to two dealers who couldn't diagnose it right so sold up after two years and 12500 miles. Afterwards a technical bulletin came out tracing it down to a lot of faulty lambda's. But then again, we're in 2012 now and as Bob Dylan says: times they are a changing... so is technology...
