How to request: A/C pressure switch

Afternoon all,

It's hot is f**k outside but instead of moaning I think repairing my aircon would be time better spent.

The A/C didn't work when I bought it so the dealer replaced the aircon pressure switch and hey presto, working.

A year later it's gone again.

Renault have said it's probably the switch again but there's a 'reason' it keeps blowing - Could be anywhere up to £500 to locate and fix the fault.

I'm going to fit a new switch this weekend and see how that goes first as they're only about £20.

Any advise/tips for removing the front bumper and accessing the radiator would be appreciated!

Cheers.

Front bumper removal is front wheels (can be done without takingthem off but easier with them off), arch liners which is 4 pop clipS and two screws under neath them, then there is a screw holidng the wings to the bumper behind the arch liner. Then theres 2 bolts on the undertray and 4 inside the bonnet at the front.

Sweet, cheers.

They've got a mk3 clio at my local scrap yard and I believe it's the same A/C pressure switch as the 197 so I'm going to go down, remove it and test it on mine.

At least if I snap anything whilst removing the bumper it won't be on my car...

You sure it's not just low on refrigerant?

Might be worth going to your local A/C specialist and getting them to check the pressure before assuming it's the switch. It might save you a lot of hassle!

As sure as I can be, it was re-gased about 10 months ago and was only used a couple of times a week, I wouldn't have expected it to need a re-gas just yet?

Thanks for any advise!

Unless you have a leak in one of the aircon pipes, they usually put green neon stuff in with it, have a look at the pipes and see if you can see any.
