Jimbobs RB 197 Track focused!

Yes both pins in the socket, then just tape them in. You may need to check but I think the seat airbag resistance is higher, the pretensioner is the same i think .

Thanks mate, just 2 bare resistors and stuck them into the sockets? I think guys use 3 ohm resistors.

Going to change the driver's seat myself so I'll have to do that too!

Looking good... Kinda How I want mine to progress!

why no full cage tho ?

Thanks! and to be honest I feel it may be a little overkill for track days, but then I guess you could say a lot of the above is!

The front section can be added in later, available from Mark Fish also, think it was approx £300 to add

How are you planning to lower the steering column? Bought a Turbo Gauge also, yet to fit it. Any good?

For those that were interested, dropped the column down by approx. 8mm

Cannot go any further without modifying (grinding off the retaining tabs at the front and back left)
It has security hooks that limit the amount It can drop off the studs

I removed all 4 nuts, dropped the column off by pulling towards yourself, support it to save it wrecking wiring etc
I then used the original 4 securing nuts with built in washers - upside down onto stud to act as the spacer
Then used 4x m8 nyloc nuts with washers
Slid back on - All ok

Luckily I am a big lad so don't think I will need it any lower!

Update:
-Black headlights fitted
-LED nighteye h1 dipped beam bulbs - MUCH better + Beam pattern is good
-Front door cards made from scratch with 1.5mm ABS plastic
-Thin campervan carpet glued down in front footwells to save floor being ruined!
-Turbogauge (Scangauge copy) fitted for live data
-Helmet hammock fitted also

That's about all this year, hoping to get on track at the start of next year!

So! As we are in lockdown I now have some time to update this!

Went to Bedford for a track day back in February, 1st track day in the baguette and it performed well!

Was quite damp and struggled for grip coming out of the bends. Also had quite severe brake fade after not long!

Also managed to carry out what seems to be standard procedure and melt the rear splitter!doh!

Since track day I did have castle Combe booked but unfortunately this has been cancelled. Hoping When this all blows over to get straight back out on track!

Have now done:

-NSF fog light 3d printed insert with cold air feed to air filter
-Front brake pads and discs - Brembo high carbon UV discs and PFC Z rated pads, with new holding pins
-Adjusted exhaust and Added back in the 2nd cat to quiet it down (was 98db static!) and to be honest this has helped low down drivability
-Front window deflectors
-Front citroen mist washer jets
-Hole cut in rear bumper to add rear tow strap - Yet to finish due to being locked down away from the car!

Next jobs:
-Finish rear tow eye
-Remove rad support mount and cut off legs and paint
-Have a Renaultsport front splitter on back order
-Heater wiring plug replacement

Debating in the long run:
-Front half of the R020 cage
-Flocking the dash
-A/C delete

Thanks all, Take care

So since last post I have managed to spend some time on the car. Have done the following:

-Fitted rear tow strap
-Remove rad support mount and cut off legs and paint
-Fitted front Renault Sport splitter
-Flocked the dash
-Larger customer pedals with grip tape
-Speedline wheels added
-3D printed a 12v socket extension
-3D printed a go pro mount
-3D printed a light switch panel mount
-Side graphics added
-Sump gasket replaced

Snetterton booked for the 24th June
Brands hatch evening booking for 15th July

Remap completed yesterday down at Engine Dynamics, Chuffed with the results. Other than additional power, the drivability and smoothness has improved greatly! Definitely recommend! 198.2hp - Nice to know the engine is healthy
