As organiser of the meet, Im happy to speak up, and I'm sure everyone else is behind me in agreeing that we will not feel in any way wronged for you to bring the Lotus instead of the Clio!

    Absolutely stunning mate!

I'm in FULL agreement with that mate. New or used? If you need any advice or thoughts from an owner, please shout, I'd be happy to help.

Was playing with new but I don’t know! If I got the right deal from lotus (there’s only one v6 exige in NI and the one in the ONLY lotus showroom in NI has been sitting for near two years and never sold, if they extended the 50/50 deal to three years instead of two I might be tempted) a showroom with a couple of cars sitting in the asshole of nowhere is all well and good but people seeing one on the street driving around is the best advertising you can get, so you never know what might happen!

I’d say 99% or the population in NI have never seen a v6 exige on the road

I can tell you now pretty much for absolute certain that if you make it clear it's the 50/50 or nothing, they'll be able to sort something out for you.

However, knowing what I know now, you'd save a small fortune buying used and be able to throw all the rest at it in upgrades. Honestly my best advice would be to get a V6 and sort all the bits they upgraded for the 350 better and cheaper. You'd have a much improved car in the long run. The prices are getting out of hand at Lotus, some of the option items especially. And it can be done better.

Seen the price of the new 430 Cup? Clear of £100k now.

You could definitely buy used and add mods to make it faster, better and lighter for less than you could buying new.

Anyway, again, happy to help mate. Fire me a mail with questions any time you like.

I hear what your saying bud, the one I specced was around 65k on the road! Still a fair bit tbh, I know I could get a good earlier one for about 40-45k and that leaves me 20 over, then again 32 now and nothing to pay for 3 years and intrest Free! Lol well will see at the start/mid next year!

Yes 430 is mental price, have you heard the 380? Ummm bliss, not track friendly so I’ll give that a miss, not resale friendly I fear! Pity, they sound soooo good.

Cheers Kevlar, I keep him in mind thanks :-

The 380 is a bit of a waste of time in my opinion. I looked into it FULLY. Was very very close to selling the BMW and putting the money towards a 380, BUT the way they make the power is a complete cludge and they've had to cut off 500rpm to make it work reliably. Which in the real world means it actually doesn't really make any more usable power. It's a bit of a con to be honest. There are quite a few 380 owners who are learning this recently. A few of them VERY unhappy about it, especially the track focused guys...

Honestly, unless you're planning to track it a lot more than use it on the road, trust me, the 345 bhp is PLENTY!!!

As for the noise, I presume you're talking about the titanium option exhaust? It sounds absolutely superb but my GOD it's expensive. Scarily so. Prohibitively so. You could have one made that sounds just as good and is more track friendly for a mere fraction of the cost. Like less than a quarter! And you get to spec the tailpipe design you want...

Funny I’ve just been reading up on the ssc cable update for the linkage on the earlier cars is a great upgrade, could save me 20k! Lol

Yes the 380 is a non starter as I don’t see it’s worth over the 350 or earlier model!

In all honesty mate, I've driven 7 V6 Exige and in my opinion, the talk about the "shocking" gearbox is massively overrated. Yes they definitely vary, but only one of the cars I've driven was "bad" and even then it wasn't *that* bad. I've been surprised how ok mine is. Yes you can't rush it. Yes it gets hot if you really push it. But mostly, it's great and I really love the mechanical feel of it.

Before going the SSC route, you can have the cables adjusted which can make a big difference if you have one that isn't great. The SSC cables are definitely better but once you look at the cost to buy and import them and to have them fitted, you're well on the way to a proper Alitech Precision shifter, and they're AWESOME!
