RAF Coningsby, 100 years of No3 Fighter Squadron

Yesterday i made the long journey to RAF Coningsby to catch the No3 squadron event arrivals, The Tornado role demo and Typhoon display.
After leaving at 7am we finally arrived at 10ish just in time to catch the Tornado Role demo, I knew i got my car mapped for a reason:lol:.
The rest of the day was pretty much non stop flying, It really was a great day.
Anywho on with the pics:

Thanks for looking

Awesome.

We can see where Renault got the idea of the grey they supply on the Raiders lol.

Cant help but think that the Tornados are beginning to look their age. The Typhoon looks awesome. Very F-16 in its design.

The 3rd one is great how the one plane is in the others heat wave:thumbup1:

Always enjoy your photos Nick, are you a RAF photographer by any chance?

I stayed at Coningsby for a week when I was an air cadet, we played with some F4 Phantoms from 228 OCU Squadron. Showing my age now

Thanks mates, Yep i guess the Tornado is looking a little old although i think it still is one of best planes for the jobs it does.

That's a pitty Adrian would have been good to meet you . You might catch the Rafales next week as there suppose to leave Friday morning, Thats the rumour anyway. Make sure if you take pics put them up on here .

Thanks Fernandez, Nope just a regular photographer at the moment . F4 Phantoms you old bu***r lol, They were cool planes the germans are retiring theres this year which means only the Turks and Greeks fly them in europe.

Thanks Roy yep i'm quite pleased with that shot, Although my favourite is 20. It was really hard to get a sharp shot as he was doing 650mph lol.
