Service due soon

May be a daft question but car didnt need a service for another 5000 miles or so but has just come up service due soon! Think it was serviced before I got it but that was roughly a year ago. Does the computer know when it was done like the date? And is it telling me it's due because it's been 12 months?

Need to look at book. Big un though I think! It's a 56 plate but only done 24000 miles. Had cambelt looked at like 3 month ago and was said to be "as new" but I know I should really get it done! Insurance renewal expected any day too! Niccce! Haha

aye you could risk the cambelt if you liked (ie, not get in done yet) but i wouldn't. rubber ages/perishes not just through use. but you could put it off until next month if you have insurance to pay for too.
