I make it 1:28ish, but surely not, as that puts it in some seriously hot company??

Someone want to check I'm not going mad?

....those recaro's really sit quite high....makes the Stig look uncomfortable! Great drive though!

it looks like it from the vid, it would be nearer to 1.32 i should imagine though given its power to weight ratio and based on the 182 cup time

goin purely on the timer at the bottom of the clip i'd estimate a 1.30.xxx

looks like he didnt like the gear changes very much.

lets face it its not going to be lapping faster than a 500 hp CL65 lol

i clocked it at 1:30 on my phone stopwatch, if the Renault Megane R26R can do it in 1.28.1, it's not too much of a stretch is it?

Tough call as you don't see the line cross, but it certainly isn't too shabby. Fair enough it is a tight track and xxxhp isn't going to do you that many favours, but that's testament to some seriously good handling.

Knew there was a good reason I bought one as a track toy!!!

Yeah from the vid it would appear to be a 1.30ish lap but its far from accurate due to all of the cut scenes. IIRC this was discussed over on the RS forum and we came to the conclusion that it could be shot over several different laps (especially if its going to be on TV). With all of that looking down etc it doesn't seem to be an 'on it' lap IMO.

Now for the big Q - why is the 200 slower than a 182? Progress???

could be a dryer track mate, the 200 run may of had a head wind, the stig may of missed a gear, better tyres, the stig may of got on with it better.any reason mate.
the clio did well as it is a bit of a power track.

You can't argue with physics, lower weight will always prevail. Although I seem to remember the 197/200 beat the 182 in the 5th Gear test?

as clarkson keeps saying their track is more a power circuit - plenty of places to open the taps !

Looking back I can see where the cut-aways don't quite line up with where he is on track, so it probably is a few seconds more than I thought.

Comparing it directly to another car is a bit flawed, unless they both ran back to back on the same day, but it is interesting to see what ball park it is in.
