Torque arm polybush

So I went to fit my torque mount polybush and I can't get the old one out and looking at it I won't get the new one in. Am I supposed to remove this metal thing with the red arrow on it

Yes, I just used a flat head and prised it off.

How did you prise it off? Did you remove hole thing from the car to prise it off?

I did mine today.. Took no longer than 10 mins.

to remove that end cap, I used a flat screwdriver and a hammer to tap it. I thought it was easier to remove the end cap bit first before unbolting the bushfrom the engine.
