Track Day Noise Limits

Hi,

Ive got a standard exhaust system but with the centre silencer removed. Does anybody know what sort of reading this gives. I've checked it with a phone (highly inaccurate I know) and it's showing around 99db.

With my very loud oreca system with n front silencer and toyosport manifold it read 88db as 4500 on my trackday at cadwell last week. I wouldn't even give it a thought mate, next to no sound from the engine bay is picked up by those things either. Thats why a aerial atom might be pushing it but a civic with a different exhaust will be well under. Don't worry you're self.If you are still unconvinced though you could go to your nearest track when a trackday is on and ask them to noise test it for you. They normally ask for something between 2/3 and 3/4 of the max rpm

Going on msvt Bedford is the lowest static is 101dB Drive by is 87.9dB but avg is a round 105dB static and 92dB drive by

I had no problems at Castle Coombe which has a 100db limit using the same set up as you describe...

I had a decat and non resonated scorpion system had no problem at oulton and donnington

Great. Thanks for the replies, I was thinking of going along to one just to check but I think I'll just take the chance as my nearest is about a 100 mile round trip.
