Warning Light!?

Not sure if this in correct section.............

Bare with me,
A few weeks ago the spanner light and the engine warning light came on along with the message 'check emissions'. So took it to Renault dealer, they plugged their machine in a the light was gone .
Two days later it came back  ,so this time i took it to the place i bought it (an RS specialist apparently) and they said they'd check the car over in more detail. So picked it up and the light was off . The very next morning started it up and guess what......yep, the light was back :rain:
Its now booked in again for this Monday to be checked, they're gona have the car for 3 days to do a "full diagnostic check" whatever that is?

So...was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? if so what was fault? cos i have a feeling that within a couple of days of picking the car up the light will reappear!

Its a 200 btw,

Cheers.

Take it to Renault, explain you haven't paid for a broken car, and you don't want it back until its fixed. Oh, and you want a courtesy car FOC!

not had this but take a note of your milage if they having it for three days

if its putting the light on it should be generating a fault code in the ecu - this can be read by diagnostics machine and so in theory fixed

few items can cause it -

lambda sensor fault
injector fault
spark plug fault
various engine sensors faulty

each faulty conponenet has a "fault code" generated when the ecu detects a fault or a wrong value

look up obd2 system error codes and this will give you an idea

its all primaryily based around maintaining emission standards/controls throughout the life of the car

Exactly, they will change whatever they have to, its the whole point of warranty. If they turn round and say "its just one of those things" i wont be responsible for my actions :chair:
They only have 1.2 Twingo which is F***** rediculous!!!!

Thats along the lines of what i thought.
When i drop it off i'm gona have a proper 'chat' :shout: with them face to face which is better than over the phone!
Cheers

And yeah thought of that, i dont think theres any reason for them to drive it anyway, the mechanic is unlikely to know what it 'should' feel like. So will be taking pictures of mileage and MPG!
