WTF? STD exhaust popping?

It's been a week now that my 197 pops while upshifting at mostly random rpms...

First to second at 5000 exactly and i always get a nice clear pop. :confused1:

Then at random rpms from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th i also get a single clear pop.
I never have this when changing at high rpms or pushing hard.
I have also noticed a very slight kangarooing when with 2nd or 3rd i am around 2000 rpms and steady on the gas...
Fuel consumption normal.
Any ideas??

P.S. I LOVE it when it pops but something must be going on..

Its not really supposed to pop when upshifting.. lol.

Only usually downshifting, especially on custom exhausts and stuff, again not really common on standard systems. I'd take it to Renault tbh.

mite be overfueling! sounds good yes but mite **** your car pal

I had the upshift popping as well before the engine rebuild

I believe it's burned exhaust valve seals leaking fuel past them

ask someone to follow you closely when upshifting at high rpm and observe if there's blue smoke then go to the dealer and use your warranty

remapped? might be just over fuelling as said above. does it smell like its running rich?

Arun you make me feel sick...because other than that, i also have, like you had, problems with oil consumption..

You sure its not the clutch or gearbox making a "popping-like" sound on upshift.
Mine was doing the same - I also thought it was the exhaust popping.
Took it in, and they said it was the synchro...

I thought so too but i had a friend follow me and he is pretty sure it sounds like an exhaust pop...

Anybody had his engine light flashing for about 15 seconds and then going out?
Today it was the second time..

yep - a couple of times

doesnt seen to be any lasting issues and nothing wrong shows up

Mine pops alot, duno what is wrong with it tbh I like the noise alot though
