Yeah that sounds about right for mine too, I hear it inside the car but like you say, only slowing down in gear at about 2-3k rpm.

I think it might be a renault thing, I used to drive a renault modus, does exactly the same whine. Almost like a silent version of a supercharger kind of noise

Good review and welcome to the club.

I have a 56 plate 197 (original gearbox) and have never had a problem with it. Saying that I always match revs on downshifts. I'm very pleased with how accurate the gear change is as so many cars have a box that's like stirring soup!!

The brakes are excellent but need a strip and clean every year. This is essential as the callipers have a habit of seizing if you don't.

Love my Contis but they need changing very soon. Goodyear Eagles seem well rated and are a good price so thinking of trying those for a change.
