AC question?

Hi Guys!

Recently noticed that there is a high pitched squeal when i turn on the AC it goes away after i turn it off.

Any ideas if its serious,ive not had air con before so not really clued up on it?

air-con compressor have been known to fail

also when you put air-con on the cooling fan comes on at low speed to keep the front mounted condensor cool - it could be a cooling fan problem...

need checking out!

Did you resolve this? Mines developed this issue, not used the ac for ages, and today I used it for the first time an it made a constant noise, until I turned the ac off. Kinda like a whirring motor noise....

mine dose this as well i work with a/c and it should be the fan motora. and lil tip you should run your a/c for 10 mins week at least as the oil mixes with the refrigerant and can leak out as you you need it topped up with gas if you run once a week you shouldnt need re-gas
