advice on this 197

Nice colour.....

However :

- Bolster on drivers side Recaro looks worn (as mentioned)
- You realise that cups are poverty spec (bar cup chassis) - meaning resale is affected
- Can't tell the brand of the tyres - however I always look for good quality tyres as it gives an indication (imo) of how well the car's been looked after.

Also look out for :

- Crunching when changing gear (f*cked slave cylinder or syncros)
- Any vibrations under braking (the Brembo fronts need servicing regularly)
- Knocking from the rear (loose boot catch or worn central exhaust mount)
- Knocking or 'play' from the steering (steering rack)
- Any knocks when cornering, or excessive wear on the edges of the tyres (tie rod / track rod ends)

Just a few things to bear in mind.

Overpriced IMO. Very basic, no mention of cambelt change (which is due anytime now)

You're only looking at £125 to get the seat repaired, so that's no big deal, however you're looking at £500 for the belts. If you can get him down to sub 6k then maybe it's worth a punt.

With the belts/seat and I'd always budget for tyres. Your looking at an extra nearing £1K

i wouldnt worry too much about owners as alot of people buy them and cant afford to run them
