Symptom
Inoperative windscreen wipers
No fault codes are displayed
Cause
Water ingress into the windscreen wiper motor
Corrosion causes the wiper motor to jam
Solutions
Connect the diagnostic tool
Body control unit: UCH
Check the windscreen wiper parameters
Activate the windscreen wipers

Cause
Faulty power steering control unit
Solutions
Connect the diagnostic tool
Delete all the fault codes
If the fault code cannot be deleted: Left-hand outer sensor DF002, 9001
Power steering control unit 6-way white connector:
Check the signal on pin 2
Check the signal on pin 3
Check the signal on pin 4
Check the power supply on pin 5
Check the signal on pin 6
Power steering control unit 1-way black connector:
Check the power supply on pin 1
Power steering control unit 1-way white connector:
Check the ground on pin 1
If no fault is found
Check the CAN-Bus signal
Note: Use an oscilloscope
If the displayed value is:

Disconnect the power steering control unit from the CAN-Bus network
Check the CAN-Bus signal
If the displayed value is:


Renew the power steering control unit
Initialise the power steering control unit
Calibrate the steering angle sensor
Check for correct operation
 
Symptom
Tailgate opening fault
Cause
Moisture ingress into the tailgate intermediate connector R2
Solutions
Connect the diagnostic tool
Check the tailgate switch parameters
Check the tailgate opening parameters
If a fault is found, carry out the following check:
Check the tailgate wiring
Check the tailgate intermediate connector for moisture ingress






Symptom
Squeaking noise when the clutch pedal is depressed

Clutch pedal:
Insufficient grease
Solutions
Remove the clutch pedal
Apply grease to the clutch pedal shaft
Refit the clutch pedal

Connect the diagnostic tool
Check the stalk switch parameters
If a fault is found, proceed as follows:
Check the wiring condition between the following components:
Multifunction steering wheel control unit
Body control unit
If no fault is found, renew the stalk switches

Disconnect the brake light switch connector
Turn the brake light switch 90° anti-clockwise
Remove the brake light switch
Depress the brake pedal
Renew the brake light switch
Turn the switch clockwise 90°
Reconnect the connector
Turn the ignition on
Check the brake lights
Repair time
Renew the brake light switch (Time: 0.20) (OE Code: 7602)

Symptom
Noise from the front strut
Abnormal resistance when turning the steering wheel from lock to lock
Cause
The shock absorber bush is damaged
Solution
Check for noise or vibration:
Turn the steering wheel from the left stop to the right stop
If necessary:
Renew the shock absorber bush
