Clio 197 - It´s gone, replacement inside.. (Trackday pictures added)

Since this is a gallery, I try not to throw too many words at you :001_rolleyes:

My pride & joy days after I collected it from the dealership...already fitted some H&R coilover suspension (only choice back in early 2007) + 25mm spacers/wheel and we shall not forget the new indicator lights.

from that point on, things started to go "a little berserk" and I thought it would be a good idea to put some 20inch wheels on my Clio

just in case you haven´t noticed this also applies for the inside

However, in early 2008 it became clear to me, that I completely missed the point... since then I have made a few other changes, for starters I sold the spacers, got rid of the 20 inch wheels, fitted some Toyo R888 on the front axle and put some comfy seats/belts in...

I also got myself a customized exhaust system with a switchable exhaust bypass valve from a german specialist. Unfortunately I have no useful pictures of it, but it is "OEM style". Soundwise that´s another matter
This being a gallery I think I´ll spare further details in this thread

Welcome to the site, the car looks great, i like how the car has went through so many different stages so far.

What kind of detailing equipment to get that shine on the black?

Thanks.

Well, I think I can reveal some more short informations:

  • Use the car as a daily commute , already covered ~60.000 mls with it, looking forward to at least another 60.000.
  • Got some KTR Braided Brake Lines and Original 2-Piece Brembo Discs waiting to be fitted
  • Quaiffe ATB just got over the channel and is lurking in my direction, new Sachs clutch will be fitted as well
  • Full cage will be welded in as of next spring. (just for legally fitting an OMP Kubic steering Wheel with spacer, tall guy. Our regulations are a real pita...)

EDIT: Detailing equipment? This thing goes through a regular car wash roughly 10 times a year, that is it. Don´t go anywhere near it^^

I had two major incidents, apart from one damper loosing oil on the coilover suspension (got a new one from H&R for free).

At first, when I covered about 35.000 mls the clutchhydraulic gave up and my Clio ended on a trailer heading to the dealership.

The second incident was minor compared to the first one, but 10 times more annoying. After a while the batterylight always lit up. Was nearly 2 months until they fixed the problem. Over that time I got myself a new generator and engine-ECU (expeeeensive!). Thank god, I undersigned the extended guarantee.

Turns out, it was the cable linking these two units... am I the only person who would have checked/swapped this first?

least they weren't the end of the world and it didn't put you off the car!

yeah always start with the easy/cheap stuff first! i hope the next 60,000 are trouble free for you!

Wow zer guht! nice ride! Can't believe you had 20's on it too, brave man but obviously not meant for our cars.
Now I wish I had a black 197!! That's made my mind up now, next car is going to be black with black alloys like my megane 2 years ago.

Tried those dimensions too? It´s a very tight fit...

You definitely need some decent torques, if you want to step in the ring with such vast wheels. Can´t say I have any...

Okay for showboating, but that´s about it.

Next Spring I want to fit some O.Z. Ultraleggera, but not sure which colour to choose. Was thinking about White and some "Balboni-Stripe" on the car.

Looks much better on the black OEM wheels! Liking the pole positions too, first 197 I've seen with them =)

got some good pics there. got black one myself and they are a pain to keep shiny like that, but they look amazin wen they are.

like what you done with the centre console.

Mein Deutsch is nicht zehr gut, aber "Die Detaillierung der Ausrüstung".

Stellen Sie es durch eine Maschinenwaschanlage oder waschen es mit der Hand?

Verwenden Sie einen Schwamm auch?

Mein Deutsch is nicht zehr gut

Makes two of us then  Thanks for the effort anyway.

By regular car wash I meant a washer. No hand wash. No Sponge. Just basic program.

Since the car has to park outside the garage (no space inside), I don´t emphasise that much on washing it.
