197: Clio 197 R27 production years

Hi!

I've done a search here and on the rest of the WWW, but cannot seem to find during what years the 197 R27 was produced.

I've bought my used gorgeous LY car from Germany back in 2012 but cannot seem to find any other date than when it was first registered (2009-03).

My plate by the handbrake shows number "2711" - does this give any clue as to when the car was actually built? Or is there any other way of checking this?

I should imagine that it was only made during 2007. In the UK there were only 500 made, but in other countries there were quite a lot more, as your plaque suggests.

Perhaps someone with a bit more info can clarify.

This was my first thought as well, as they where produced to celebrate the 2006 championship. Perhaps the unlimited run of cars (non-UK cars) where produced until 2008 or 2009?

Thanks for the effort. I'm looking to sell my car and it feels unkind to the new owner (who might not be an R27 specialist) to simply advertise it as production year = registered date, even if I've seen this happen...

they were built in 2007, 2008 and also a few for european market in 2009 aswell.
