Folding Wing Mirrors

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if I leave my folding wing mirror switch in the fold position, do they automatically fold in and out when locking and starting the car? Just not sure if it’s supposed to on a 197?

No, you have to manually rotate the button to fold them in.

if you push them shut when the car is locked they open themselves when you unlock it, but it doesn't sound healthy, and it kind of defeats the object of auto folding mirrors as you manually do them

Im sure some electrical wizz could put something in so they do fold/unfold automatically with locking

Don't think that be good idea. If they fold automatically with locking in a cold/ice or snow weather that day & could damage the motor. And also how will they turn in frozen?

I think it look cool but pointless

Should be quite easy as there are Renaults out there with electric folding mirrors, just a case of mix n match and a bit of electic know how.
