Need a new clutch

I was planning on picking an exhaust soon but it turns out I need to buy a new clutch. Can anyone recommend a clutch to buy that's fairly priced? Don't want to be being tons but I know it's a killer of a job. I got my friend to pick up my parts for my brakes and it turns out people were getting their 4 pads and discs done for cheaper than my front 2 pads and discs.

What clutches could I buy? Completely clueless.

I would make sure you get a good one, my genuine Renault clutch fell apart, only 6 months after it was replaced.

LUK are a Sachs brand. Im not sure if Sachs is the Renault supplier, but they supply most of the OEMs with clutches.

Turns out to be a lot more expensive than I imagined, bank account is going to love me after I get a new clutch. :'( Always thought the clutch would be relatively cheap (say £100 odds) and the labour would be the expense but hey, that's what comes with having an amazing car like the Clio. :lol2:

It's the slave cylinder that bumps up the price, but it'd be a bad idea not to change it at the same time.

I donlt really undrstand the bit of your post about brakes? You realise that you have 4 pads on the front don't you? The car has 8 brake pads in total.

Who is changing the clutch for you? If it's going to a garage then ideally you need them to supply the parts as they are unlikely to help out in case of a warranty claim if they didn't.

I agree with that statement, you may save a few quid buying the parts and supplying but if it all goes wrong you will be paying again for the labour to fix

Always change the slave cylinder when the box is out (treat it as a consumable)

Is there not genuine clutch kits from a Renault supplier on ebay for about £130 ? Il try think the link. Would make sure it is a genuine clutch kit before I bought it tho. As other members said would definitely change the slave while the box is out. I fit clutches all the time and always advise changing both parts at same time.

CES have a slave cylinder for about £65 and its a Valeo same as Renault, just the plastic is a different colour. There what I have been using with no problems in my car
