Springs or Coilovers??

...and for the KW Clubsports, who set them up and balanced the corners, decided the camber and castor and fine tuned a decent set of damper settings?

Not a interregation Noddie, just identifying you did the right thing and chased some positive gains with some reasoned thinking.

I had a local race team fit and set them up. The initial setup was way too hard for the road and height was too low so been back to them a few times to have things "tweaked". Now with the slightly track focused Yoko AD08s it is superbly setup. Definitely the best we've had it.

Absolute fair play. You had to work at it with some specialist support and eventually fine tuned what worked for you and now have the results.

Clubsports with some camber are more 'A' level than most coilover set ups though. Would you really recommend that time and expense for the occasional, more novice trackday user then?

Fortunately I can afford (and the wife lets me) to buy "gadgets" such as the Clubsports. That's not to say the H&Rs were bad. Just had a little more under steer when "pushing on".

OTT? Not really. Though some might say they are a tad "harsh" on the road.

Put it this way, if you had the knowledge you wouldnt be suggesting I didnt.

Good solutions are bespoke and based on meeting the needs of the driver and individual car.

You talk about controlling understeer, well the individual suspension solution for that (other than playing with a basic softer/harder front/rear balance) will be dependant on so many variables and driving conditions. You cant just nail that detail with a quick general coilover guide on a bit of A4 paper. If you were running a set of semi-slick tyres, then the whole balance and understeer tendancy might be completely different from someone on a set of Conti 5Ps. Same coilovers, same car, same day.

Get the drift?

I don't have the knowledge, hence why I am asking you as a person that comes across as someone who does.

But you can't give an answer, just recycling the list of suspension related words you have.

As and when I sort (with k-tec) my Nitron coilovers, my car will be going to Mark Fish for a full setup, along with rear camber and toe shims being used.

I will tell him the conditions I use my car in, my yearly milage and any other information he requires to set the car up. I won't be suggesting any degree of fine measurements, as I don't know what they are. As not all of us have the exact knowledge required...... And unless you prove otherwise, not many of us think you have either.

If this was pistonheads we'd be caling custard, i don't think we need to here though, He/she is not going to tell us so i say fake.
