Hi everyone, first I'd like to introduce myself. My name's Paul and I'm 20 years old. My first car was a 1.6 mk4 golf, only paying £800 I pretty much ran it into the ground and wasn't worth doing anything to it.
I wanted a new car, something special. I wanted to be able to take it to the track and have it as a daily. Owning a golf I was looking at a Mk5 R32 but couldn't justify the running costs and GTI's are good cars but aren't the best for track due to the weight.
I then saw my friends step dad's cliosport 197 in black, I really liked it. Seeing they where in my price range and a great track car and daily. I was set on one. But it had to be a F1, with recaro's and wasn't too fussed on the colour. I found one in Bristol in Nimbus Silver and had H&R Springs. The more I looked at it, the more the colour grew on me. I booked a test drive and I few days later I had a go in it. And yep. I bought it. Corners are now a thing I enjoy! and not hold on for dear life with stock tractor wheels and high suspension on the golf. But definitely feel the bumps
First thing I did notice was that someone did a number on the interior trim.
I have no idea what had happened, but It had to be fixed. I have no spraying experience at all so don't be too harsh. Popped down to halfords, picked up some primer and a random grey I thought might look good. Sanded all the trim down, filler primer, primer, main coat and then clear. (sorry for the poor phone images.)
Teaser for the finished products tomorrow
The front Grilles where also a sight for sore eyes. Off they came.
Update should be tomorrow Hopefully I can steal my brother's DLSR.
