Centre section

Afternoon.

Bought a 197 and its got the centre silencer removed, I'm guessing that's causing the flat spot after reading the forum.

Will the silencer have been cut out, or can I buy one from an exhaust place and bolt it back in?

The silencer is normally cut out yeah, and a replacement section of pipe welded in. If you can get hold of an OEM silencer I don't see any reason why a good exhaust place couldn't weld it back in for you.

A flat spot is there on most 197/200 even when standard, but any exhaust mod can exaggerate it. Putting a silencer back in should improve things, but there may still be a slight flat spot there

Its been put in with clamps, but obviously there isn't any flanges left to bolt the standard unit too

Clamps? Half the battle done for you!

Could have a custom one made up for you.

Yea its got a sleeve with 2x u-clamps on. I want a standard really, give us as much change of a smooth flat spot as possible lol
