Whether its because of the material choice or not, the noise is still from the pad and disc resonating either way.

Are you guys talking about squeal when applying the brakes or when cruising?
My rear brakes squeal like hell, after going back to Renault 5 times now (cleaned out, re-greased, even new pads) they still squeal. At any speed, 5mph to 50 mph, with the window open, you can hear them squealing (not all the time though, and annoyingly not when Renault drive the car!) but when they aren't squealing they sound like somethings binding. They get worse the longer you travel without using the brakes. As soon as you touch the pedal, the noise goes.
Any suggestions, or anyone have this issue as well - ie do I just live with it, turn up the stereo and deal with people judging my two year old car that sounds like theres a cat stuck in my wheel arch when I drive past them in traffic?!
