Seatbelt colour dying

Has any ever dyed their seat belts a different colour? Thinking of changing the inside up a bit.

Does this affect integral strength of the seatbelt? Anyone know of any professional places this could be done?

Haha I've just posted a thread on Red seatbelts , I thought about dying them but what happens when you wear white ?

From talking to Fred @ BTM, apparently there is a chap with a red 197 that had red seatbelts in his, had the silver belts replaced and stitched in etc.

No pics or further info unfortunately

No idea, but it can be done! Might as well just buy a coloured harness though...

Apparently it's very difficult to die the seatbelts as they are nylon.

Was just about to say this. You're basically fixed to the seat so in the event of a crash you will be heading towards the dash with added weight behind you and no way of stopping the impeding face makeover.

Yeah you're right, plus the rear seatbelt anchors are too low to mount the harnesses, so the angle isn't considered safe either. Ideally you'd need fixed back buckets with a cage to mount the harnesses.


...and then you could get red belts

I'd like the yellow belts but they're proper expensive and a pain to install as well. Silver looking tired now.
