Silver Indicator Bulbs

Hey,

I did do a search but couldn't seem to find anything directly related to this ...

Im after changing my nice orange indicator bulbs to the silvertech style ones, I've managed to do the sides one on the wing mirrors but when coming to the front ones they seem to be something strange?

I ordered the ones that came up with my number plate but almost looks like i have to replace the bulb housing not just the bulb??

Can anyone help me out here, am I missing something or do I really need to replace the whole thing?

They're normal indicator bulbs, nothing strange about the from or rear ones. The sides are 501 bulbs.

The front and rear indicator bulbs are the same bulbs.

You have to remove the housing (it twists out), replace the bulb, and then pop the housing back in (see the first picture in thread below). The bulb twists out of the black plastic thing.

I think the OP has a 220T?? from looking at her mini profile... So likely different to the 197 setup

Anyone with a T shed any light on it?

I did my rears! My hands are too big to do the fronts! I thought they were just the same as rears.

Why didn't you just take the whole unit off the car instead of resting it on the paint?

It's a bit of plastic, I know the paint isn't the best but it's not that soft, lol!
