Interestingly. Its the only car ive ever had with an aftermarket exhaust - that's louder in the car than outside ! Sounds way quieter on the vid than it is driving....... (Probably a good thing).

Yeah I can imagine with a toyo mani it'll be Loud have you still got the 2nd cat? Cheers for the mention @jimmyd81
But I've got a decat non res and that's loud! Nice pops and crackles, but can be droney at times tho does turn heads.. Bwarrrrp
Yes pre-cat gone, 2nd cat still in place and resonated system. Complete opposite to you !!!!
Thought of the day:
1/ When I originally had a slight exhaust blow I took mani off and welded in new flexis.
2/ After that it was still same - although as I say: it was extremely minor.
3/ I then decided to fit new stainless mani, stainless full system and get both remapped together to do it once and do it properly.
4/ I STILL have same blow. SOMETIMES from cold the most minor of blows for 20 seconds. Once warm - it goes.
5/ My old mani has gone on another car now. And isn't blowing !!!
TBH I'm "lost". My mechanic can't locate it, is struggling to locate in the 20 seconds it appears from cold and has tried spraying joints with soapy water, chalk dust on joints, tissue near it to see if it moves, listening for it with a tube ...nothing.
Although I will of course have an exhaust for life, have a better sounding car and might gain 10hp**** - I'm going to be £1500 down with exhaust, fitting x 2, mapping etc AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME ORIGINAL BLOW !!
Are there any specialist ways of detecting such a minor blow......

Dare I say it but.... is it worth worrying so much over such a minor blow?? I do understand where you're coming from, because we all want our cars to run as perfect as possible. However if it is only happening for that small amount of time it might be worth just letting it go....

Was trying to decide between a non-resonated and resonated scorpion and you have made my mind up, resonated! Quick question, is the pre-cat in the manifold? If so, where is the secondary cat? Just after the manifold and before the silencer? Will it pass the MOT with just one cat?
Also, I have read somewhere that the blow isn't actually a blow, but more of a system to heat the cat up quickly when cold? I could be wrong, but that's just what I have read.

Looking good man [emoji1360] seems engine dynamics have 2 pretty much exactly the same cars in to map within 2 weeks haha mine goes to them on the 5th July for a map, and got a scorpion resonated exhaust to fit before then as well [emoji1360] have to let me know how it goes

One comes out, one cat gets cut into the system. No EML for me, both lambdas in place and still having a cat in should pass MOT no worries.
And yes - my mechanic (Who I've used for like 25 years and trust implicitly) reckons its the system warming up too. To be fair as he can find any leak; what else is he going to say ? BUT - I had the same noise on old mani with new flexis which new owner isn't getting. Which implies it's "my car" ! He did also say it's so minor it will never effect the mapping when done. And he does have a rolling road / do some mapping so should know.

Sorry. Missed replying to this. Your assessment makes sense.
The main problem being:
1/ It's intermittent.
2/ You get so little time to do / check anything before it goes. And so few times to check during full day in garage due to cooling down times etc.
Maybe the system getting warm does sound that way for half a minute or so ? My guy is extremely clever, is a big Jap tuner both personally and business wise and had been working on modded cars for 30+ years. This stuff ain't new to him being my point...

Also, I think I know the blow you are talking about, my last 200 and my current one sound like there's a slight blow from startup but does quickly go, I just ignore it [emoji1360]

Possibly mate, did worry about mine at first, but then got the second one and it was the same, so I just ignore it lol
Just heard that the guys there are brilliant at what they do, best place round here, and out of all the places I called including rstuning, they seemed like the most knowledgable people, and that they wanted my custom and cared more than the bigger names, was on the phone to him for around 45 mins just talking about the car, recommend them already and haven't been there yet lol
